On Friday, 24 May 2024, the University of Klagenfurt and the Lakeside Park hosted the “Lange Nacht der Forschung”. The university opened its doors and lecture halls to visitors at any age to provide an in-depth insight into research at the University of Klagenfurt. A total of 8,000 people took part in the event; it began with a show in which all stations presented their projects. Afterwards, visitors had the opportunity to discover the latest from the world of science at 70 research stations.
At the ABILITI project station, all visitors were able to try out avatars and talk to project manager Agnes Turner about the use of this technology. Furthermore, explanatory videos were shown on a screen and the lecture hall was transformed into a small cinema. Everyone who watched the films was rewarded with a bag of popcorn. The station sparked great interest, especially among teachers and students.
